Roisin McDermott

Roisin McDermott – Head of Entrepreneurship at Women in Business NI

Roisin is a Business Mentor and Facilitator with 30+ years experience in supporting entrepreneurship, with a keen interest in social enterprise and female entrepreneurship. She currently leads the Entrepreneurship team at Women in Business, coordinating programmes and facilitating workshops and events for members and non-members. She is the Project Lead of the WeGrow programme, an all island growth programme for ambitious female founders, which is lead by InterTradeIreland through the Shared Island programme.

She joined the Women in Business team in 2022 after 14 years of running her own consultancy business Seed Mentoring. She was one of the key founders of Women in Business 25 years ago and was previously a voluntary Director. She has mentored on several government funded programmes for start up and growth.

Roisin has been part of the Enterprise support network since starting out at a local enterprise agency in Bangor 30+ years ago, and then becoming the Manager at East Belfast Enterprise where she worked for 10 years. During this time she lead the financing and build of at £3million business centre City East, to create incubation and office space for local business in Belfast.

Roisin has been a Director of Specialisterne NI, a social enterprise supporting neuro-diversity and employability for 10 years. She is also on the Board of Digg Deep for kids and she coaches a local girls football team every Friday.
