Peter graduated from an Ivy League university as a Fulbright Scholar and holds an MA (Hons) from Oxford with a expansive career at the highest levels of Government and broadcast journalism. Appointed by two successive Prime Ministers as Special Adviser to two Northern Ireland Secretaries, a Home Secretary, Housing Secretary and then the Lord Chancellor & Justice Secretary, he focused on delivering tactical and strategic advice, crisis management and media handling. This demanded extensive insight and experience of delivering Government priorities, while balancing diplomatic, political, domestic and economic factors. Currently a presenter on Times Radio, the Talk radio and TV network he has also published two books: Political Animals: the secret life of the political pets of Westminster and Washington (2025) and The Secret Life of Special Advisers (2020). Peter brings a significant insight to our 2026 conference with a focus on the volatile political and economic challenges that are crucial considerations for the business support sector in securing sustainability with our business leaders.
