Ellie Carcamo is the co-founder of Caribe Coffee Co., an independent specialty coffee business based in Northumberland. Founded in 2018 alongside her husband Wilmer, the business directly imports coffee from small family farms in Honduras and supplies customers nationwide through retail, wholesale, subscriptions, events and franchise partners.

Caribe Coffee Co. was built around flexibility, sustainability and community, shaped by Ellie’s lived experience as a parent carer to a child with complex medical needs. These realities influenced the company’s values —prioritising ethical sourcing, environmentally responsible practices, and a business model that supports both farming communities overseas and families locally

Alongside running the business, Ellie is an advocate for inclusive entrepreneurship, particularly for founders balancing caring responsibilities, health challenges or limited access to capital. She is regularly invited to share her experience of building a values-led businesses from the ground up and the realities behind “imperfect” startup stories.
